  1. Minimum Entry Requirements for all applicants

    Interested applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. A Malawi School Certificate of Education or any equivalent O-Level qualification with at least 4 subjects passed with credit (6 subjects for some programmes) including ENGLISH LANGUAGE and other subjects specified in the table under point (d) below.

    2. A University of Malawi Diploma or, a relevant Diploma recognized by the University of Malawi.

    3. A minimum of 2 years post Diploma relevant work experience in a field related to the programme

      applied for.

    4. Applicants MUST also meet the additional entry requirements for each programme as outlined in the table below:

      Candidates with the following

      qualifications shall be admitted into year two of study on mature entry basis: A two year Diploma from University of Malawi recognized institutions (with a minimum of a Credit), and having accumulated a minimum of 240 credit hours. The diploma should be in any of the following disciplines: Law, Security Studies, and any Law Enforcement related Studies. Candidates should

      also have an MSCE with at least four credits, including English, Biology, Physical Science/Physics & Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates may be required to start from first year where necessary. In addition to the above requirements, candidates to be admitted on mature entry shall have

      a minimum of two years progressive experience with Government of Malawi recognized law enforcement agency.

      1. Entry into Year 2: Holders of University Certificate in Computer Science from the University of Malawi.

      2. Entry into Year 3: Holders of an Advanced Diploma in Computing or any related field from a recognized institution of higher learning with a pass of distinction or credit and an MSCE with at least four credits including Mathematics, Physics/Physical Science and English.

      1. Entry in Year 2: Learners with ‘MSCE with six credits’ or Equivalent and a relevant certificate or diploma in ECD will be considered to start in year two if they satisfy the required credits as stipulated in the UNIMA Qualifications Framework.

      2. Entry in Year 3: Learners with UNIMA diploma in ECD or similar qualification will be considered for entry in the third year.
