Center for Resilient Agri-food Systems (CRAFS)

Our interdisciplinary research center aims to strengthen research capacity and capabilities in Malawi to carry out impactful research that leads to resilient agri-food systems grounded in science and technology.

Centre for Social Research

Undertakes applied social science research including conducting monitoring and evaluation of development programmes so as to generate information on priority problems of the country.


LEAD Southern and Eastern Africa

Undertakes capacity building under various themes. It also does action projects including climate change adaptation, population and environment.


Centre for Education Training and Research

CERT endeavours to keep Educational planners and the public well informed on key issues of education in Malawi.

Centre for Language Studies

The Centre promotes development of all Malawian languages and guide government on language policy matters.

Natural Resources and Environment Centre

The Centre provides institutional infrastructure and capacity for research, training and consultancy in environmental issues and natural resources management.

Centre for Peace and Conflict Management

Researches on conflict, as regards its genesis, escalation, nature and management; and peace and security in various forms.
