My research interests are in Language Development and Empowerment focusing on development of scientific terminologies using indigenous knowledge. I also do research on Language and Education focusing on local language policy development and implementation for Primary Education. Other research areas are Language and Health, Literature and Politics, Translation as a cross-cultural communication process, Language and the Media and Lexicography.,

- Translation
Pamene Palibe Dokotala - a Chichewa translation of Where There is no Doctor published by The Hesperian Foundation (USA). This translation was volunteer work for Umoyo Trust, a local NGO working with local communities in Chiradzulu district. "Where there is no doctor" is the most widely-used manual for health workers, educators, and others involved in primary care and health promotion around the world. (2005)
