POST OF LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR OF LITERATURE IN ENGLISH

The Department of English at Chancellor College is looking for a candidate to fill the vacant post of Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor of Literature in English.

Suitability and Duties

Each candidate should have at least a Master’s Degree of Literature in English with a minimum of two years teaching experience in two or more of the following fields:

• African Literature

• Literary and Cultural Theory

• African Film and Cinema

• Malawian Literature

• Oral Literature and Popular Culture

• European Literature

• Afro-diasporic Literature

• Creative Writing

The candidate should also have a minimum of two years of supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. They should also show evidence of publications in international peer-reviewed journals. For the position of Associate Professor and Professor, in addition to the above requirements, the candidate should have a good track record of handling research projects, show evidence of strong inter/national research linkages and networks, and should have experience of engaging with the community.
