Department of Computing

The Department of Computing focuses on all applied science aspects of computing. Computing, as a discipline, forms an important part of our social and work lives, shaping how we communicate, keep record of things, as well as simulate and predict reality. Over the past decade, computing has transformed our approach to the pursuit of Millennium and Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to key areas such as smart-agriculture, e-health, online learning, and promotion of financial inclusion, through innovative services such as mobile money solutions.

At the Department of Computing, we place emphasis on training Computer Scientists, Network Engineers and Information System Developers who can take the lead in the development of solutions that address Malawi’s development challenges – transforming the Malawi from being a net user of computing solutions, to being a regional and international ICT hub.
