CHANCO WINS GOLD AT TESSAM GAMES
Student life at Chancellor College does not only focus on academic lives. The college encourages its students to also partake in sporting activities. From time to time, students engage in sports competitions with other tertiary institutions. Among these are games organized by the Tertiary Education Student Sports Association of Malawi (TESSAM). The most recent of these games happened on 16th and 17th September 2017, at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).
Students from various education institutions - including Chancellor College, College of Medicine, the Polytechnic, Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), DMI-St. John the Baptist University, Mzuzu University and Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) - took part in the games.
These were in various sporting disciplines such as basketball, volleyball, football, netball, chess, hockey, athletics, weightlifting, tennis, pool, and darts.
Chancellor College managed to scoop gold medals in athletics, pool and tennis.
According to Maya Likoya, the Sports Officer, the Chanco teams need encouragement and must also put more effort in training, in preparation for future competitions.
