Max and Sherry Dine and Lounge Founders Inspire UNIMA Students

Entrepreneurs Hope and Tamika Mezuwa, founders of Max and Sherry Dine and Lounge, delivered an inspiring lecture to computer science students at the University of Malawi on Thursday, 5th March, sharing practical insights on digital marketing and brand development. The lecture, titled “Clicks to Impact: Building a Brand in the Digital Era,” was organised for members of the university’s Computing Society to expose students to practical applications of digital platforms in entrepreneurship and business growth.

During the session, Hope Mezuwa encouraged students to harness their individual talents and passions as a pathway to economic empowerment. He emphasised that digital platforms offer young people significant opportunities to transform their skills into sustainable careers.

“Your personal skills and passions can become your source of income if you learn how to position and promote them in the digital space,” he told the students

Drawing from his experience in the hospitality industry, Mezuwa highlighted the importance of identifying market gaps, maintaining consistent online engagement, and using creative and relatable language to build recognisable brands.

Co-presenter Tamika Mezuwa shared additional insights on the importance of consistent posting and maintaining a professional digital presence.

The event was attended by university officials, including Monica Khombe, Head of Marketing and Communications at the University of Malawi and Akuzike Banda, Matron of the university’s Computing Society.

The visit by the Mezuwas reflects a growing collaboration between industry leaders and UNIMA  aimed at equipping students with the entrepreneurial and digital skills needed to thrive in the industry.
